In partnership with Sunswap’s Lead Embedded Software Engineer, you will play an integral part in the development of our transport refrigeration systems. In addition, you will support with Sunswap’s software testing at unit, integration and system level. This will also involve system testing with, for example, motor controllers, fans and battery chargers.

You will:

  • Embedded software development expertise, especially for ARM platforms and STM32.
  • Experience with software testing at unit, integration and system level.
  • Prior industry experience in versioning control systems like git, perforce.
  • Experience of debugging software on hardware targets with debugging equipment like emulators, debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analysers.
  • Strong background in developing device drivers, for example, I2C, UARTs, SPI.
  • Experience with local networking/communications such as CAN.
  • Programming and flashing microcontrollers and microcontroller-based devices.

You have:

  • 3-5 years experience’ within an Embedded Software Engineer role.
  • A degree in electronics engineering or equivalent.
  • A strong understanding of electronics.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of system-level engineering and the interaction between digital, electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent C, C++, Python language skills.
  • Knowledge of automotive / transport / motorsport / control systems, complying with industry standards, safety processes and certification.
  • Advantageous:
  • Model-based design, for example Simulink
