About us

Every refrigerated truck and trailer moving goods across the country has relied on diesel for decades. It's polluting, expensive, and the technology hasn't change. Two companies have dominated the market, selling the same legacy technology with minor updates.

Sunswap makes the electric refrigeration that's replacing it - zero emissions, lower operating costs, built from the ground up for how fleets actually operate.

We have gone from founding to manufacturing at scale globally in just six years. We built our own production facility in Surrey. We are trusted by major brands like Tesco, Ocado, Birds Eye, and Happy Eggs every single day. With units operating across the UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Chile, and Australia.

We have been named Sunday Times Best Place to Work 2024 and 2025. We have won awards for innovation, technology, and marketing excellence. We've secured backing from BGF, Barclays, and Clean Growth Fund. We've got the customers, the traction, and the momentum.

Now we are  taking this British-engineered product global. Scaling manufacturing. Opening new markets. Building the team that will make legacy polluting technology obsolete across the world.

If you want to be part of a company that's setting new standards for the industry and scaling internationally, this is it.

Job overview

The European Sales Manager will lead Sunswap’s enterprise sales function across Europe, with direct responsibility for managing the UK and Benelux sales team and delivering the entire European sales target.

Alongside regional sales leadership, this role will personally lead Sunswap’s commercial launch and growth in France, owning the go-to-market strategy, enterprise customer acquisition and early market traction. You will act as a senior player–manager: setting direction, driving performance from the team, and directly closing high-value enterprise opportunities.

This role is central to accelerating Sunswap’s growth beyond France, supporting the expansion and performance of other European markets as the business scales. You will play a pivotal role in transforming how transport refrigeration is powered, helping enterprise customers transition to cleaner, more efficient solutions. As a senior commercial leader, you will be a vital contributor to scaling Sunswap globally, shaping how the business grows, wins and leads in a changing industry.

Key responsibilities:

Sales Leadership & Number Ownership

  • Own and deliver the entire European sales target, with full accountability for revenue performance, pipeline health and forecast accuracy across France, the UK and Benelux.
  • Lead, coach and performance-manage a multi-country enterprise sales team (UK x2, Benelux x1), setting clear targets, KPIs and expectations.
  • Drive a high-performance sales culture, ensuring consistent execution of Sunswap’s sales methodology, qualification standards and CRM discipline.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, pipeline reviews and deal reviews to ensure effective deal progression and timely close.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex, high-value or at-risk opportunities, supporting deal strategy and commercial structuring.
  • Translate company OKRs into clear regional and individual sales plans, ensuring alignment and accountability.

France Market Build & Sales Execution

  • Develop and execute the commercial go-to-market strategy for France, aligned with Sunswap’s overall growth objectives.
  • Establish Sunswap’s commercial presence in France, mapping target sectors, enterprise customers and key decision-makers.
  • Own the end-to-end enterprise sales cycle in France, from lead generation and qualification through to negotiation, contracting and close.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of enterprise opportunities, progressing customers from trials through to fleet-scale deployments.
  • Create and present high-quality proposals, tenders and business cases to secure trials, orders and long-term commercial agreements.
  • Lead complex, multi-million-pound negotiations, ensuring strong commercial outcomes while managing risk.
  • In collaboration with the EU Aftermarket Manager, identify, validate and contract maintenance service partners to support French deployments.
  • Ensure commercial agreements are aligned with operational capability and long-term customer success.

Cross-Functional & Market Leadership

  • Work closely with Marketing to drive inbound demand, develop sales materials and support France- and Europe-specific campaigns.
  • Provide structured market, customer and competitor insights to inform pricing, product development and commercial strategy.
  • Represent Sunswap at industry events and customer meetings, building senior-level relationships and strengthening brand presence across Europe.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts and reporting in line with Sunswap’s CRM, governance and commercial processes.
  • Support future sales team expansion through input into hiring, onboarding and capability development as the business scales.

Qualifications & experience

  • Fluent in French and English, with the ability to operate confidently in enterprise sales environments in both languages.
  • Extensive enterprise B2B sales experience, with a proven track record of delivering against revenue targets.
  • Proven experience launching and scaling new markets or territories, ideally as a Country or Regional Manager.
  • Demonstrated success managing and leading enterprise sales teams across multiple countries, with direct ownership of team performance.
  • Strong track record of closing high-value, complex sales involving multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles.
  • Experience owning and forecasting against a regional or multi-country sales target.
  • Demonstrated success in structuring and executing complex deals, contracts and partnership agreements.
  • Highly proficient in CRM systems and sales reporting, with a disciplined, data-driven approach.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in fast-growth, early-stage environments with high levels of ownership and accountability.
  • This role requires regular travel across France and Europe; candidates must be willing and able to meet these travel requirements.

Advantageous:

  • Fluent in German, Italian or Portuguese
